I am passionate about people. I am passionate about the whole person – physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
I have spent 35 years in the healthcare field, as a doctor, a healthcare manager, academic and a counsellor. I have been blessed with the opportunity to live and work with people from all walks of life, ages, religions and culture having studied, worked and lived in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Australasian region.
I am passionate about learning and sharing knowledge. I have a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Medicine. I have earned my degree in Philosophy and Theology with special interest in Ethics from the University of Navarre (Spain). I also did my Master’s in Business Administration (Healthcare Management) and a post-graduate degree in Counselling from the University of Auckland (NZ).
I am passionate about the Person-Centred Approach to Counselling. This approach ensures that the person is always at the centre of decisions which relate to their life. A person-centred process involves “emphatic listening, thinking together, coaching, sharing ideas, and seeking feedback.” In my work in counselling, I aim to empower the individual person and instil the skills and confidence to face whatever challenges life has to offer.
I have “walked” with people through the following life stages and challenges:
- Cultural adaptation
- Depression and stress (mild/moderate)
- Faith and Spirituality
- Life transitions (Youth, Marriage, Retirement, Bereavement, others)
- Professional, study and work issues
- Relationship problems
- Self-management for people with Chronic Diseases
I am passionate about my family with all its ups and downs, both the laughter and the tears. I have been married for 23 years with two adult children. We have lived in 4 continents but call New Zealand home.
I am passionate about gardening and use it as a form of therapy. I am passionate about being close to nature and to its Creator.
If you feel that you need someone to talk to, I will be there for you.
